EYFS Teaching Assistant

Contract: Flexible, term-time only
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a caring and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to work within a welcoming primary school in Sheffield (S12). This is a flexible, term-time role starting in September 2026, with the potential to continue on a longer-term basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young children during the crucial early stages of their education and development.
The role will involve:- Supporting children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) classroom.
- Assisting with play-based learning activities and continuous provision.
- Supporting children’s communication, language and social development.
- Working with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning.
- Helping to create a safe, engaging and nurturing learning environment.
- Supporting the class teacher with classroom organisation and daily routines.
- Has experience working with children in an EYFS, nursery or primary school setting.
- Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (desirable but not essential).
- Is patient, caring and able to build positive relationships with young children.
- Has a good understanding of child development and the EYFS framework.
- Is proactive, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Has a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
