Fabric Maintenance Technician

Salary: Up to £41,200 depending on experience, plus overtime and call-out payments

Hours: 40 hours per week

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Fabric Maintenance Technician to join a professional facilities maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced commercial environment, carrying out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fabric repairs to ensure buildings are maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fabric maintenance across the site
  • Complete a range of building fabric tasks including carpentry, painting and decorating, basic plumbing, patch repairs and flooring maintenance
  • Support the wider engineering team with maintenance activities when required
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and operational requirements
  • Accurately record completed work using the CAFM system or maintenance job sheets
  • Identify defects, recommend repairs and suggest improvements where appropriate
  • Contribute to delivering a high standard of facilities maintenance and customer service

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a building services or fabric maintenance role
  • Good all-round knowledge of building fabric repairs and planned maintenance
  • Experience working within commercial, retail or similar environments is desirable
  • Sound understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Flexible approach with a willingness to support out-of-hours work and call-outs when required

Desirable

  • Relevant qualifications in carpentry, joinery or building maintenance
  • Experience working within large, busy or public-facing environments
  • Familiarity with CAFM systems
