Fabric Maintenance Technician (Mobile)

Location: South West London (Mobile across multiple sites)
Salary: £36,000 per annum + O/T
Contract: 9-month Fixed-Term Contract (ending January 2027)
Hours: 40 per week (08:00 – 17:00) + Overtime available
Travel: Oyster card provided (no company vehicle)

The Role

Our client, a leading provider of integrated facilities management and infrastructure solutions is hiring for a Fabric Maintenance Technician to join our team supporting the Transport for London (TfL) contract across South West London. This is a mobile role where you’ll travel between sites using public transport. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring assets are operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities, including fire alarm testing, lighting checks, and water temperature testing/flushing
  • Ensure all maintenance work is completed within agreed timeframes and to required compliance standards
  • Perform general building maintenance across multiple sites, including inspections and minor repair works
  • Proactively identify and address defects to prevent asset failure
  • Complete compliance-related checks such as fire door inspections and water hygiene testing
  • Respond promptly to reactive maintenance issues and breakdowns to minimise service disruption
  • Accurately record all maintenance activities using CAFM or maintenance management systems
  • Support statutory and regulatory compliance through inspections, testing, and reporting
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety policies, carrying out hazard reporting and safe working practices

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in general maintenance within commercial or public sector environments
  • Knowledge of PPM processes and compliance tasks
  • Understanding of fire safety systems, water hygiene, and basic building services
  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
  • Good awareness of Health & Safety regulation
