Fabrication Supervisor

We are hiring for a Fabrication Supervisor to be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the fabrication department, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and health and safety requirements are achieved. The role involves supervising fabrication personnel and managing activities including laser cutting, welding, metal fabrication, assembly, and finishing processes.

Reporting To : Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily fabrication activities, including laser cutting, welding, bending, assembly, and finishing operations.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of fabricators, welders, and machine operators.
  • Ensure production schedules are achieved while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Monitor laser cutting and welding operations to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Allocate work and resources effectively to meet production deadlines.
  • Conduct quality inspections and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company procedures, industry standards, and health and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate routine maintenance and ensure fabrication equipment is operating effectively.
  • Investigate production issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance management for team members.
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Planning teams to ensure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate production records, performance reports, and personnel documentation.
Skills and Experience Essential
  • Experience supervising fabrication, welding, and manufacturing operations.
  • Strong knowledge of laser cutting, welding processes (MIG, TIG, and/or MMA), and metal fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Good understanding of quality systems and health and safety requirements within a manufacturing environment.
Desirable
  • Relevant engineering or fabrication qualification.
  • Welding inspection or fabrication certifications.
  • Experience with CNC laser cutting equipment and production planning systems.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement techniques.
