Fabricator / Welder – Top‑Tier Defence Programme (£19.97 per hour, Days)
We are recruiting a number of experienced Fabricator / Welder to support a leading, world‑class defence engineering organisation delivering long‑term, strategically critical programmes for the UK. This is a rare opportunity to join a top‑tier defence client operating at the highest standards of quality, safety and precision.
About the Role
You will work within a modern, high‑specification manufacturing facility as part of a skilled production team responsible for assembling and fabricating complex, safety‑critical components. The work supports a major defence programme with long‑term security, structured processes and exceptional engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Health & Safety Compliance — Maintain strict adherence to defence‑grade safety procedures and hazard controls.
- Fabrication & Fitting — Fabricate and fit aluminium components using jigs, fixtures and approved engineering procedures.
- Quality Assurance — Work from detailed drawings and carry out visual/NDT checks to ensure components meet exacting defence specifications.
- Tooling & Measurement — Use hand tools and precision measuring instruments to maintain tight tolerances.
- Welder Approvals — Maintain European welder qualification tests as required.
- Fault Reporting — Report equipment issues through approved maintenance channels.
- MRP Booking — Record hours and activities accurately using SAP.
What We’re Looking For
- Recognised Time‑Served Apprenticeship
- Aluminium MIG welding experience essential
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
- Strong background in heavy manufacturing or fabrication fitting
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work to defence‑level quality standards
- A disciplined, safety‑focused approach suitable for a high‑integrity environment

- Overtime paid at x1.33, x1.5, and x2
- Days-based role with early finish / half-day Fridays
