The Opportunity

An established engineering and fabrication business based in Southampton is looking to recruit an experienced Fabricator Welder to join its growing workshop team.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll be fabricating bespoke frames, supports and structural fabrications using mild steel. You'll be working from engineering drawings, producing high-quality work for a range of industrial and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate frames, brackets, supports and bespoke assemblies from mild steel.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Measure, cut, prepare and assemble components.
  • MIG weld fabricated assemblies to a high standard.
  • Use fabrication equipment and workshop machinery safely.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards.
  • Work efficiently to meet project deadlines.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience as a Fabricator Welder.
  • Strong fabrication skills working with mild steel.
  • Confidence reading engineering drawings.
  • Good MIG welding experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Pride in producing high-quality workmanship.
