Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7.30am - 4.00pm; Friday, 7.30am - 1.00pm

An established and highly respected engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Suffolk is seeking a skilled and reliable Fabricator/Welder to join its growing manufacturing team.
 
The business specialises in the design, fabrication, and production of high-quality power generating equipment for the industrial and marine sectors. With over 80 years of experience, the organisation has built a strong reputation for craftsmanship, reliability, and delivering robust, British-made products to customers across the UK and beyond.

The Role
As a Fabricator/Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components to precise standards. Working from engineering drawings and technical specifications, you will use a range of workshop machinery and equipment to produce high-quality components and finished assemblies.
 
The role would suit an experienced Fabricator/Welder who takes pride in their workmanship, has strong attention to detail, and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider manufacturing team.
 
Key responsibilities will include:
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Conducting MIG/TIG welding and general metal fabrication to precise standards
  • Fabricating and assembling metal components for industrial equipment
  • Operating workshop machinery, including press brakes, guillotines, saws, drills, and associated equipment
  • Performing fitting, finishing, and quality checks on completed assemblies where required
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised workshop
  • Working with Rockwool and other insulation materials
  • Taking a flexible approach and being willing to undertake tasks outside of typical Fabricator/Welder duties
  • Successfully passing a down-hand butt and fillet weld test using MIG
 
About You
The successful candidate is likely to have:
  • Proven experience in welding, fabrication, and sheet metal work
  • Experience with MIG/TIG welding and general metal fabrication
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A flexible and positive approach to supporting wider workshop requirements
  • The ability to meet the required welding standard through a down-hand butt and fillet weld test using MIG
