  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
  • Friday: 7:30am – 12:30pm
  • 37 hours per week
  • Overtime paid at 1.5x after 37 hours

Pay: £18.00 per hour

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Plater / Welder to join a skilled fabrication and machining team within a modern, ISO-certified engineering facility.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-integrity, precision-engineered components supplied to critical industries including nuclear, subsea, oil & gas, mining, scientific research, and power generation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out MIG and TIG welding in accordance with BS EN ISO (phone number removed):2017+A1:2019 procedures.
  • Work to and maintain certification standards in line with BS EN ISO 9606-1:2017.
  • Fabricate heavy carbon and stainless steel components ranging from 6mm to 100mm thickness.
  • Assemble and fabricate structural steelwork including beams, columns, channels, and angles.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment.
  • Produce high-quality welds capable of meeting NDT inspection requirements including DPI, MPI and UT.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication details and weld procedures.
  • Work closely with engineering and quality inspection teams to ensure all work meets specification.
Skills & Experience

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience with MIG and TIG welding.
  • Strong heavy fabrication and structural steelwork experience.
  • The ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of BS EN ISO welding standards (or willingness to gain certification).
  • Experience using overhead cranes, slings and lifting equipment.
  • An understanding of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods such as DPI, MPI and UT.
  • A strong commitment to quality, accuracy and health & safety.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a professional engineering team.

  • Strong heavy fabrication and structural steelwork background.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience working to BS EN ISO welding standards is advantageous.
  • Competent using overhead cranes, slings and lifting equipment.
  • Understanding of NDT requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a skilled team.
