Working within a fast-paced and collaborative environment, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of construction projects by producing accurate and commercially competitive estimates for complex façade and cladding packages.
This is a position that combines technical understanding with commercial awareness, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working with technical drawings and clients in equal measure.
The Role
As an Estimator, you will take ownership of enquiries from receipt through to quotation, working closely with clients, contractors, architects and internal teams to develop accurate and competitive project pricing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing tender enquiries, drawings, specifications and project documentation.
- Producing accurate take-offs and material calculations from architectural drawings.
- Developing detailed cost estimates covering materials, labour, logistics and ancillary components.
- Liaising with clients and contractors to clarify project requirements and scope.
- Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Managing quotation revisions as project requirements evolve.
- Identifying value engineering opportunities to improve project efficiency and competitiveness.
- Supporting pre-contract meetings and project handovers.
- Maintaining clear records of pricing assumptions, revisions and commercial considerations.
- Working closely with sales, technical and production teams throughout the tender process.
- Previous experience in an estimating role within construction, façades, cladding, building envelope systems or a related sector.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings.
- Strong numerical, analytical and commercial skills.
- Experience producing measurements, take-offs and cost models.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and value engineering.
- Knowledge of façade, rainscreen cladding or external wall systems.
- Experience pricing bespoke construction or manufacturing projects.
- Understanding of construction procurement and tender processes.
- Exposure to technical sales, quantity surveying or pre-construction activities.
