Facilities Assistant in Middleton, Borough of Rochdale

FACILITIES ASSISTANT / HANDYMAN (MANUFACTURING SITE) MONDAY TO FRIDAY, £26-28,000 PLUS BENEFITS. Major European Company, great place to work, friendly site with exciting new phase of development ahead.

The Company

Our client is a leading name in several fields of manufacturing, with a major European and UK presence spanning numerous operational plants. As part of the continued growth of the business they are presently seeking a Facilties operative to support for their operation in Manchester.

Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 08.00 – 16.30 and 08.00– 15.30 on Friday

Job Summary

The Site Operative supports the Facilities Team through waste management, road sweeper operation, housekeeping, grounds maintenance and general labouring duties to ensure the site remains safe, clean and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

· Operate the site road sweeper. (training provided)

· Empty departmental skips and waste bins.

· Support recycling and waste segregation activities.

· Maintain external areas, roadways and pedestrian routes.

· Assist the Facilities Operative with general maintenance tasks.

· Support shutdowns and improvement projects.

· Move materials, furniture and equipment around site.

· Carry out winter gritting, snow clearance and seasonal duties.

· Maintain excellent housekeeping standards.

· Comply with all health and safety requirements.

Essential Requirements

· Full UK Driving Licence

· Previous industrial, warehouse or labouring experience

· Good communication skills

· Ability to undertake manual handling activities

· Strong safety awareness

Desirable Requirements

· FLT Licence

· IPAF Licence

· Road sweeper or plant equipment experience

· Manufacturing environment experience

· IOSH Working Safely

· Waste management experience
