Hays Recruitment are currently seeking a reliable and professional Facilities Caretaker to join a busy housing team covering Liverpool and surrounding areas. This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity for someone with experience in property inspections, facilities management, housing, caretaking, or building maintenance.


As a Facilities Caretaker, you will be responsible for visiting and inspecting a portfolio of large Multiple Occupancy Housing (HMO) properties, ensuring buildings remain safe, compliant, and well-maintained. You will play a key role in identifying maintenance issues, reporting defects, and raising repair jobs to ensure residents receive a high-quality living environment.


Your new role

  • Carry out routine inspections across multiple occupancy residential properties.
  • Identify maintenance, repair, and health & safety issues.
  • Raise and report maintenance jobs through internal systems using a company-issued iPad.
  • Conduct basic property condition assessments and record findings accurately.
  • Monitor communal areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance standards are maintained.
  • Liaise with contractors, maintenance teams, and housing staff regarding required works.
  • Ensure all inspections are completed in line with company procedures and housing regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records and inspection reports electronically.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents and stakeholders.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience within facilities management, caretaking, housing, property inspections, building maintenance, or a similar role.
  • Ability to identify property defects and maintenance requirements.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using mobile technology and tablets.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
