Salary: £35,000–£45,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm
Facilities Engineer – Manufacturing
Our client is a well-established, highly respected manufacturing business seeking a Facilities Engineer to join their Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving a busy production facility, ensuring buildings, utilities and infrastructure operate safely, efficiently and in full compliance with statutory requirements.
Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you'll be responsible for maintaining site facilities, managing contractors and delivering infrastructure projects that support continuous production.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the maintenance and performance of building services, including electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Oversee general building maintenance to ensure facilities remain safe and operational.
- Manage external contractors and service providers, including reviewing RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) and issuing permits to work.
- Deliver facilities improvement projects, refurbishments and infrastructure upgrades from planning through to completion.
- Ensure statutory inspections, certifications and compliance requirements are maintained.
- Prepare and manage facilities maintenance budgets while controlling expenditure.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, technical documentation and compliance paperwork.
- Support production by ensuring all site utilities and facilities remain reliable and available.
- Carry out risk assessments and ensure safe systems of work are followed.
About You
We're looking for an organised and proactive engineer with experience in facilities or building services within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
You will ideally have:
- A recognised qualification supported by practical experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services or Facilities Engineering.
- Experience managing building services and site infrastructure.
- Strong project management and contractor management skills.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and statutory compliance.
- Experience managing maintenance budgets.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
