Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Maintained health and safety compliance and promoted a safety-first culture.
- Identified, reported, and escalated safety risks and incidents.
- Supported internal and external audits and compliance activities.
Maintenance & Operations
- Performed planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on machinery and equipment.
- Maintained spare parts inventory and updated maintenance records.
- Supported equipment installations, commissioning, and engineering projects.
- Coordinated with external contractors and assisted with site audits.
- Carried out equipment repairs and general site maintenance.
Continuous Improvement & Teamwork
- Identified and implemented process improvements.
- Ensured adherence to site standards, policies, and procedures.
- Supported training and development requirements.
- Built effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across the business.
- Promoted a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and compliance.
Profile
Skills & Experience
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Understanding of Health & Safety and Food Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of machinery guarding and safe working practices.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance and basic engineering principles.
- Experience or awareness of lean manufacturing tools and continuous improvement techniques.
- Basic building and facilities maintenance knowledge.
- Ability to work safely at height and within confined spaces.
- Fabrication and welding skills desirable.
- HACCP Level 2 and Engineering Operations Level 2 (or equivalent) desirable.
- Eager to learn new engineering skills and support maintenance activities.
- Committed to completing a structured engineering development programme with progression opportunities.
- Ability to commute to Goole.
Job Offer
- Hourly rate between £15.00 and £19.00, dependent on the level of experience.
- Temporary position based in Goole.
- 35 hours per week - 7-3 / 8-4 with 1 hour unpaid lunch.
