Facilities Manager – Industrial in Knaresborough

Location: Allerton Waste Recovery Park, North Yorkshire Pay: £24.62 per hour PAYE Contract: Temporary – approximately 3 months / until end of December Start: ASAP Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm Working pattern: 100% site based

We’re looking for an experienced Facilities Manager with a strong industrial FM background to join a busy operational waste management site.

This is not a corporate office-based FM role. You’ll be working within an operational waste recovery environment, so we need someone who is comfortable managing facilities, contractors, compliance and infrastructure on an industrial site.
You’ll take responsibility for day-to-day facilities priorities, working closely with Operations and Maintenance teams and coordinating contractors and site services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planned and reactive facilities maintenance
• Managing contractors and service providers
• Maintaining facilities records through a CMMS
• Coordinating cleaning, pest control, waste collection, PPE and site support services
• Managing access control, radios, gas monitors, RPE and security passes
• Coordinating statutory inspections and compliance activities
• Supporting CCTV, fire alarms, gates and security systems
• Monitoring buildings, structures, walkways, handrails, cladding and external areas
• Delivering smaller facilities improvement projects
• Maintaining strong housekeeping and HSEQ standards

### What we're looking for

You must have previous Facilities Management or Building Services Management experience, ideally gained within waste, energy, manufacturing, engineering, utilities, heavy industry, processing or another operational industrial environment.
You’ll also need strong contractor-management experience, good Health & Safety knowledge and experience using computerised maintenance or asset-management systems. Important: Candidates whose facilities experience is predominantly managing corporate/office environments are unlikely to be suitable.
