Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking a Facilities Operations Assistant to support the smooth running of daily facilities operations by delivering high-quality front-of-house services, coordinating event and room setups, managing AV requirements, and maintaining presentation standards across the site.
This is a hands-on position requiring a proactive approach to customer service, operational support, and site maintenance. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring facilities are presented to a high standard while supporting staff, visitors, contractors, and VIP guests.
The role involves providing operational support across the site, assisting with event delivery, carrying out routine inspections, and undertaking minor maintenance activities. In addition, the Facilities Operations Assistant will contribute to health and safety compliance, risk assessment processes, and emergency response duties to help maintain a safe and professional working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support event and room setup activities, including furniture movement and AV coordination.
- Liaise with event organisers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure operational requirements are met.
- Provide on-site support during events and resolve operational issues as they arise.
- Conduct post-event inspections and reinstate spaces to the required standard.
- Deliver professional front-of-house support and act as a first point of contact for site users and visitors.
- Carry out routine building inspections, report defects, and support contractors during planned works.
- Perform minor maintenance and repair tasks, including decoration, basic carpentry/joinery, changing ceiling tiles, and changing locks.
- Support health and safety activities through risk assessments, safe working practices, manual handling compliance, and emergency response duties.
Person Specification
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Good problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to operational challenges.
- Practical maintenance experience, including basic carpentry and joinery skills.
- Confidence in carrying out low-level electrical tasks safely.
- Physically capable of undertaking manual handling and furniture movement activities.
- Ability to maintain a professional and approachable manner when supporting staff, visitors, and VIP guests.
- Understanding of safe working practices and facilities operations.
Qualifications
- SIA Licence.
- Ladder Safety certification.
- Manual Handling certification.
- Low-Level Electrical Safety certification.
