Mammoth Recruitment and HR Services Ltd

Facilities Technician

Southampton

Love fixing things? Enjoy variety? Want a role where no two days are ever the same?

Mammoth Recruitment is proud to be recruiting for an experienced Facilities Technician to join a well-established business operating within one of the UK’s busiest port environments.

This isn’t your average maintenance role. One day you’ll be preparing cruise terminals ready to welcome thousands of passengers, the next you’ll be fault-finding, carrying out preventative maintenance or responding to breakdowns that keep a major operation running smoothly. If you enjoy being hands-on, solving problems and working as part of a close-knit team, this could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

What you’ll be doing

  • Preparing cruise berths, passenger boarding bridges and gangways for arriving vessels
  • Carrying out planned inspections and preventative maintenance across the site
  • Responding quickly to electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime
  • Supporting the arrival and departure of cruise ships by ensuring essential services and equipment are ready to go
  • Working alongside colleagues from different departments to keep operations running safely and efficiently

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, with a strong electrical background preferred
  • An NVQ Level 3 or recognised apprenticeship in an engineering discipline
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Confidence working at height
  • 17th or 18th Edition qualifications would be an advantage, but aren’t essential

What’s in it for you?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that genuinely invests in its people.

You’ll benefit from:

  • Competitive salary
  • Excellent company pension
  • Private healthcare
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Retail discounts and cashback scheme
  • Ongoing training and career development
  • Long-term career progression within a successful and growing organisation

Shift Pattern

This role operates on a 21-day rotating shift pattern, including weekends.

  • Early Shift: 4:30am to 1:30pm
  • Late Shift: 1:15pm to 10:15pm

Ready for your next challenge?

If you’re an engineer who enjoys practical work, takes pride in doing the job properly and wants to be part of something much bigger than just another maintenance role, we’d love to hear from you.
