CAFCASS – Family Court Advisor – Childrens - £36.50 PH Umbrella

Flexible, 1 day in the office and as required to visit courts and families.

The Family Court Adviser role provides advanced social work support to children, families, and courts within family proceedings, ensuring the childs welfare and safeguarding remain central to all decision-making. The role involves assessing risk, analysing complex cases, advising courts on child protection and welfare concerns, and working directly with children and families to achieve positive outcomes. Applicants must hold a recognised Social Work qualification and have at least three years post-qualifying experience working with children and families, ideally in safeguarding and writing reports for court. Strong assessment, communication, negotiation, case management, and IT skills are essential, alongside the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage sensitive, high-conflict situations professionally

Involves work completed after the first hearing, including detailed assessments, direct work with children and families, report writing, and ongoing recommendations to support the court in achieving the best outcomes for the child.
 

Essential Requirements:
• Degree/master’s in social work and SWE registration.
• 2+ years of post-qualification experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK social care legislation and practice.
• Right to work in UK
