Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with this Client, a successful secondary school in the borough of Southwark, to appoint a passionate and dedicated Female PE Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic practitioner to inspire and motivate students across Key Stages 3 and 4 in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
This Client is a well-established secondary school that has been recognised in its most recent Ofsted inspection for its strong leadership, inclusive ethos, and commitment to student achievement. Inspectors highlighted the school's positive learning environment, high standards of behaviour, and the excellent relationships between staff and students, which contribute to strong progress across a range of subjects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality PE lessons with a focus on female participation, promoting health, fitness, teamwork, and confidence among students. You will be expected to plan and deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons, assess student progress, contribute to extracurricular sporting activities, and support the school's commitment to raising participation in sport among female students.
Job role requirements include teaching PE across KS3 and KS4, with a focus on female PE provision, delivering a broad and inclusive PE curriculum, strong behaviour management skills, the ability to motivate and engage learners of all abilities, and a commitment to promoting physical health and wellbeing. You will also be expected to contribute to extra-curricular sport, clubs, and school teams.
The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, a degree in Physical Education or a related subject, and experience teaching PE in a secondary school setting. A strong understanding of the national curriculum for PE is essential, along with the ability to act as a positive role model for young people. ECTs with relevant training and placement experience are encouraged to apply. The successful teacher will be energetic, committed, and passionate about encouraging female participation in sport.

Salary: London MPS/UPS
M1 - M6 Salaries are aligned to experience within the Main Pay Range. Teachers typically progress annually from M1 through to M6, UPS requires formal application. TLR payments made for agreed, sustained additional duties outside of regular teaching.
