Looking for a role where you can genuinely change someone's life?
What if your next role was about more than simply supporting someone through their day?
What if you could be the person who helps someone build confidence, achieve their goals and enjoy the things they love most?
At SeeAbility, we're looking for a compassionate, patient and resilient Support Worker to support a young woman in her own home. She has autism, learning disabilities and RCDP, and lives a busy and active life filled with community activities, rollerblading adventures and, if you share a love of Christmas music, you'll be off to a fantastic start!
This is an opportunity to build a meaningful relationship with one person and play a key role in helping her live the life she chooses.
A full UK manual driving licence is essential for this role.
Why this role is special
This isn't a role where you'll be rushing from person to person.
You'll work closely with one young woman, getting to know her personality, interests and goals. Through consistent support, encouragement and understanding, you'll help her build confidence, maintain her independence and enjoy the things that matter most to her.
Every day brings new opportunities to make a genuine difference, whether that's supporting someone to access their local community, achieve a personal goal or simply have a great day doing the things they enjoy.
What could your day look like?
One day you might be:
- Supporting community activities and social opportunities
- Heading out for walks, activities or appointments
- Supporting communication and building confidence
- Encouraging independence and life skills
- Working towards personal goals and achievements
- Sharing in hobbies, interests and favourite activities
- Providing practical and emotional support throughout the day
Is this role right for you?
We're looking for someone who is calm, dependable and positive.
Someone who understands that great support starts with patience, consistency and kindness.
You'll thrive in this role if you:
- Build positive relationships naturally
- Stay calm and focused during challenging situations
- Have a good sense of humour and enjoy making others smile
- Are resilient and emotionally aware
- Enjoy supporting people to achieve their goals
- Are committed to delivering person-centred support
- Want a career where your work truly makes a difference
To be successful in this role, you'll have experience in at least two of the following areas:
- Autism and learning disabilities
- Physical disabilities and wheelchair support
- Behaviours that may be challenging
- RCDP
- Supporting people with complex needs
- Building positive relationships through patience, consistency and resilience
When you join SeeAbility, you're joining a charity that believes colleagues should feel as valued and supported as the people we support.
What's in it for you?
- Guaranteed contracted hours for stability and peace of mind
- Paid training and recognised qualifications
- Ongoing career development opportunities
- Supportive managers and a welcoming team
- Stream (formerly Wagestream), giving you access to earned pay before payday
- Wellbeing support and colleague benefits
- The opportunity to make a genuine difference every single day
