Female Support Worker - Supported Living

We are recruiting for a Female Support Worker to join our independent living model in Southbourne supporting seven young adults to living in their own self-contained flats. The service is home to three women and four men, each with their own unique personalities, interests and goals.

To be considered for this role you must hold a Full UK manual driving licence, however, access to your own vehicle is not essential.

The role:

Your role would be to help our residents through the transition in life, from living at home to living independently in one way or another. You could be supporting with preparing food, laundry, weekly food shopping/ monitoring healthy eating options, providing advice about work placements and day to day colleague interaction, day trips into the forest, attending workshops and clubs, cake tasting in local cafes or going to watch the football in the Brewhouse. The options are endless!

We are looking for an attentive colleague who brings a calm, caring approach to her work. It would suit someone who is active and comfortable spending much of the day on her feet, and who is genuinely passionate about encouraging independence and empowering the people we support.

Hours: Full Time 

You would be required to work a mixture of shift which will vary between 7am - 10pm, on a 2 week rolling rota.

This will include working alternative weekends and completing sleep ins, (sleep ins come with an additional payment.)

A support workers day would include:

  • Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community
  • Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments and medication
  • Following the support plan in plan for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on change in behaviour
  • Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bath and wash, medication
