Job Title: Fettler & Polisher
Pay: £17.50 per hour
Reporting To: Production Manager / Fabrication Manager

Working Hours

Monday-Thursday: 7:00am-3:00pm
Friday: 7:00am-12:30pm
36.5 hours per week

Key Requirements

• Previous experience as a Fettler & Polisher within a fabrication, engineering, or heavy manufacturing environment.
• Experience with fettling, grinding, deburring, sanding, linishing, polishing and finishing metal components to a high standard.
• Competent in the safe and accurate use of hand tools, grinders and finishing equipment.
• Ability to follow drawings, specifications, work instructions and quality requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing a high standard of finish and quality workmanship.
• Ability to safely use workshop and finishing equipment.
• Reliable, practical, and able to work well as part of a team.

Main Duties

• Fettling, grinding, deburring, sanding, linishing and polishing of metal components.
• Removing excess material, sharp edges, weld spatter, burrs and surface defects.
• Preparing and finishing components to drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
• Using hand tools, grinders, linishers, sanders, polishing equipment and other finishing equipment safely and effectively.
• Checking finished work for quality and accuracy.
• Reporting defects, non-conformances or production issues to management.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
• Following all company Health & Safety and quality procedures.
• Supporting production teams in meeting output targets, deadlines and wider operational requirements.
