Shillito Group is hiring an experienced Fettler on behalf of an established manufacturing business in Sheffield.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in heavy engineering or manufacturing who is confident using hand and power tools.

You will be working as part of a busy production team, fettling and finishing large metal components to make sure they meet the required quality standards before moving to the next stage of production.

• Fettling, grinding and finishing metal components
• Removing excess material, sharp edges, weld spatter and imperfections
• Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Checking finished components meet the required quality standards
• Working from drawings, specifications and job instructions when required
• Keeping your work area clean, safe and organised
• Following all site health and safety procedures
• Working closely with the wider production team

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience as a Fettler, Grinder, Finisher or in a similar role
• Experience working with metal components
• A background in manufacturing or heavy engineering
• Confidence using hand and power tools
• Good practical and mechanical skills
• Strong attention to detail
• A good understanding of workplace health and safety
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• The reliability and flexibility to work continental shifts

Experience within steel, foundry, forging or heavy engineering would be an advantage.
