Field Business Development Manager

This would ideally suit someone locally to Birmingham as this would support major client in this area.
This is a Field Based role, however there will be instances where you will be asked to work away from home, to attend training sessions, Sales Meetings, Meet Clients & attend Exhibitions in the Industry.

As a Business Development Manager you will be responsible for:
- Driving the growth and retention of contracts across your region.
- Identifying and securing new regional and national business opportunities.
- Generating leads through cold calling, tenders, contract renewals, previous customers, customer referrals, and internal leads.
- Managing the full sales cycle from initial enquiry through to contract award.
- Meeting customers to understand their requirements and carrying out site surveys.
- Recommending the most suitable service solution based on customer needs.
- Preparing, submitting, and following up on quotations within agreed timescales.
- Building strong customer relationships and delivering excellent service throughout the sales process.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on the CRM system.
- Ensuring a smooth handover of successful projects to the Operations team.
- Working closely with field engineers, sales teams, and operational colleagues to identify new opportunities.
- Managing a small portfolio of established key accounts, maintaining relationships and identifying opportunities for contract growth and retention.
- Contributing to the commercial growth and success of the business.
- The key focus will be winning new service and maintenance contracts while nurturing relationships with existing larger customers and delivering a first-class customer experience.
The successful Business Development Manager will have the following experience:
- Proven experience in field-based sales, ideally selling to Facilities Management companies, local authorities, retail customers, or similar sectors.
- Experience selling service contracts, maintenance agreements, or recurring service solutions.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM systems.
- Confident presenting to both customers and internal stakeholders.
- Full UK driving licence.
