Field Maintenance Technician – CNC Machine Tools
West Midlands | £26,000–£30,000 + Guaranteed Bonus | Permanent
A leading CNC machine tool manufacturer is recruiting a Field Maintenance Technician to cover the West Midlands — a role that's opened up because the previous person in it was promoted internally.
This is a genuine entry point into CNC service engineering. You don't need prior machine tool experience — full training will be provided. What matters is a solid mechanical background, a sharp troubleshooting mind, and the drive to develop your skills in a field-based role with real long-term potential.
The Role
• Servicing, maintaining and fault-finding on CNC equipment at customer sites across the region
• Diagnosing and resolving technical issues while delivering a high standard of customer service
• Managing your own schedule and travelling independently to client locations
• Keeping tools, equipment and company vehicle maintained to a professional standard
What We're Looking For
• Solid mechanical maintenance experience — workshop, production maintenance or similar
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
• A quick learner who picks up new technical skills with ease
• Self-sufficient, proactive and comfortable working independently
• Full UK driving licence
• Happy with regular regional travel
• CNC machine tool experience is a bonus — the right mechanical foundation and attitude will take you further than specific machine knowledge
What's on Offer
• £26,000–£30,000 depending on experience
• Guaranteed bonus: £6,000–£8,500
• BMW 330e company car
• Full tool kit provided
• Comprehensive training on CNC systems
• Clear progression pathway — proven by the fact this role exists because the last person was promoted
A permanent, field-based role with a clear career trajectory. Bring the mechanical background and the appetite to learn — the rest will follow.
