If you're successful in field sales, you already have many of the skills we're looking for.

You know how to meet customers, ask good questions, understand their business, build relationships and create opportunities.

At Ion Tec, you'll use those skills in a different way.

Engineering recruitment.

We're looking for someone with the ambition to build and eventually lead our specialist Machining market across Yorkshire.

You don't need recruitment experience or an engineering background. You need commercial ability, curiosity, resilience and the drive to become exceptionally good at something.

We'll teach you the rest.

Your Specialist Market

You'll spend time inside engineering and manufacturing businesses, meeting Production Managers, Directors and engineering teams and learning how their businesses operate.

You'll also meet skilled engineers face-to-face, understanding their experience, ambitions and what they're looking for next.

Your role is to understand both sides of the market and bring the right people together.

You'll specialise exclusively in machining, developing genuine knowledge of CNC and manual machining, the manufacturers within the sector and the people who make it work.

Every company you visit should teach you something new.

Over time, that knowledge compounds.

The objective is simple:

Become the person manufacturing companies call when they need machining talent.

The Ion Tec Academy

Your career begins with four weeks of intensive training through the Ion Tec Academy.

We'll take the commercial and relationship skills you already possess and teach you how to apply them to specialist engineering recruitment.

You'll learn engineering and manufacturing fundamentals, machining terminology, candidate assessment, client development, commercial negotiation, our systems and how to develop your market methodically.

After those first four weeks, you'll start putting what you've learned into practice.

You'll work alongside us on live assignments, meet candidates and clients, develop your network and begin making introductions of your own.

Progression isn't based simply on time served. Demonstrate the required professional and commercial standard and you'll graduate from the Academy as an Engineering Market Specialist.

Build an established network and become recognised within your engineering discipline.

Head of Machining - You build. The future.
Build and lead your own specialist machining team, developing future Market Specialists around you.

The opportunity isn't simply to progress through Ion Tec. It's to build something within it.

What You'll Receive

You'll start on £28,000 basic salary plus a £2,400 annual car allowance and 55p per mile for business mileage.

You'll also earn uncapped commission from the placements you make during the Academy.

On successful completion of the Academy, your basic salary will increase to £36,000, alongside the car allowance, business mileage and uncapped commission.

As your expertise, network and results develop, so does your earning potential.

Exceptional performance is rewarded, with six-figure earnings achievable through sustained success.
