Key Field Service Electrician Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across multiple retail sites.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults, ensuring minimal disruption to store operations.
  • Complete general building maintenance and electrical repairs across the estate.
  • Carry out electrical testing, inspections and fault finding.
  • Install, repair and replace electrical components and equipment as required.
  • Work across sites throughout the estate, predominantly covering Hull, Scarborough and York.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with current electrical regulations.
  • Liaise with the Shop Maintenance Manager to prioritise workloads and improve maintenance standards.

Field Service Electrician Requirements:

Essential:

  • Fully qualified Electrician with recognised industry qualifications.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
  • BS2391 Testing & Inspection qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience carrying out electrical maintenance within commercial, retail or industrial environments.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to participate in a 1 in 4 on-call rota and occasional unsociable hours.

Desired:

  • Experience carrying out general building maintenance.
  • Experience working within a field-based maintenance role.
  • Knowledge of commercial catering equipment or ovens (training will be provided if required).
  • Ability to work independently across multiple locations with minimal supervision.

Additional Information:

  • Standard working hours are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with participation in a 1 in 4 Saturday standby and call-out rota.
  • Unsociable hours are typically required approximately twice per month.
  • The successful candidate will join an established maintenance team consisting of two electricians, working closely together to maintain the company's retail estate.
