Field Service Engineer - EV Charging

Net Zero Evolution

Job Title: Field Service Engineer - EV Charging
Salary: €40,000 - €70,000 DOE + Bonus
Location: Belgium

Why this role

Are you an electrical Field Service Engineer looking to move into one of the fastest-growing areas of clean technology? You do not need direct EV charging experience for this role. What matters is your ability to fault-find, work safely with electrical systems, support customers on site and learn new technology quickly.

This is your chance to build a career in high-powered EV charging, supporting the infrastructure behind electric buses, e-trucks and large commercial transport fleets. Based from Amsterdam and working across the Benelux, you will help keep essential transport operations moving while developing specialist skills in sustainable mobility.

What you'll do

As a Field Service Engineer, you will install, test, commission, maintain and troubleshoot advanced EV charging systems on customer sites. You will carry out preventive and corrective maintenance, complete Site Acceptance Tests, perform I/O checks and diagnose faults affecting charging performance.

You will also produce clear service and commissioning reports, support remote technical investigations and provide practical customer guidance on site. Over time, you will build knowledge of EV charging protocols, PLC systems, CAN communication and product-specific diagnostics, with training provided where needed.

About the company

You will join a global technology business playing a major role in the transition to cleaner transport and smarter energy infrastructure. Its charging solutions support public transport, logistics and commercial fleet operators who rely on robust, high-performing systems every day.

The culture is collaborative, technical and improvement-led. You will have the support of experienced engineering teams, structured training and the chance to grow into a specialist field within electrification.

About you

You may come from electrical field service, industrial maintenance, automation, power systems, rail, marine, renewables, UPS, plant, manufacturing or heavy vehicle technology. EV charging experience would be welcome, but it is not essential.

You will be confident reading electrical schematics, working with electrical installations and diagnosing technical faults. PLC knowledge, basic Linux skills or CAN communication experience would be useful, but a strong learning mindset is just as important.

You will need a valid driving licence, strong customer skills and flexibility to travel across the Benelux, with occasional wider European work.

Rewards & growth

You will receive a salary of €45,000 - €70,000 DOE, plus bonus opportunities, field service allowances, overtime, daily allowances and standby compensation. You will also receive a company laptop, mobile phone, technical training and long-term career development.

How to apply

This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Field Service Engineer, Commissioning Engineer or Maintenance Engineer ready to move into EV charging and sustainable transport.
