Join a specialist packaging machinery company supplying and installing bespoke packaging equipment and production lines across the UK and occasionally overseas. Due to continued growth and an increased engineering workload, they are looking for a hands-on Service Engineer to join their close-knit engineering team, with a major focus on installation and commissioning of specialist machinery.

You'll be responsible for taking machinery from the workshop through to customer sites, carrying out the installation, commissioning and integration of equipment before supporting customer trials and training. You'll work on a varied mix of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems, with full training provided on the company's specialist machinery and excellent opportunities to develop your career as an Installation and Commissioning Engineer.

Your Role as a Field Service Engineer:

*Install and commission specialist packaging machinery at customer sites across the UK

*Assemble and integrate machinery with existing production lines and equipment

*Carry out mechanical, electrical and pneumatic connections during installations

*Test and commission machinery, ensuring everything is operating correctly before handover

*Attend customer sites to carry out production trials, resolve issues and get machinery fully operational

*Provide customer training on machine operation, settings, changeovers and routine maintenance

*Build and test machinery in the workshop before it is delivered to customer sites

*Carry out servicing, maintenance and fault finding when required

*Travel regularly across the UK, with occasional overseas travel and approximately 7-8 nights away per month on average

*Work independently and as part of a team, with installations split approximately 50/50 between working alone and alongside another engineer once fully trained

As a Field Service Engineer you will need:

*Experience installing, commissioning or maintaining industrial machinery

*Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills - an electrical bias would be highly advantageous

*Experience working with pneumatic systems and the ability to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics

*Experience working on machinery within a manufacturing, industrial or engineering environment

*Strong problem-solving and customer-facing skills

*A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel throughout the UK

*Packaging machinery experience is advantageous but not essential - engineers from other industrial machinery, maintenance, installation or commissioning backgrounds will be considered
