Plant Fitter Engineer - Field Based

Location: Field Based - covering a radius of approximately 2 hours from your home location
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Workload: Approximately 4 jobs per day
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience + overtime

A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Powered Access / Plant Fitter Engineer to join a growing field-based engineering team.

You will be responsible for travelling to customer sites within approximately 2 hours of your home location, carrying out servicing, maintenance, inspections, fault finding and repairs on a range of powered access and plant equipment. You will typically attend around four jobs per day, with a company vehicle and the tools required to complete your work.

The Role

  • Travel to customer sites within approximately 2 hours of your home location
  • Service, maintain and repair powered access equipment including scissor lifts, boom lifts and van mounts
  • Carry out planned maintenance and pre-delivery inspections (PDI)
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
  • Attend breakdowns and carry out repairs on customer equipment
  • Complete refurbishment and remedial work where required
  • Carry out LOLER inspections - training can be provided
  • Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately
  • Identify replacement parts and report parts requirements
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
  • Communicate effectively with customers while working on site
  • Manage your daily workload and prioritise jobs effectively
  • Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicle to a high standard

About You

  • Previous experience as a Plant Fitter, Powered Access Engineer, Heavy Plant Engineer or similar
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills
  • Experience working on construction plant, powered access or similar equipment
  • Comfortable working independently in a field-based environment
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Strong focus on safety, quality and customer service

Desirable

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plant Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • IPAF PAL Card or CAP certification - training can be provided
  • Previous LOLER inspection experience
  • Forklift Licence
  • Experience working with brands such as Genie, Skyjack, Dingli, Niftylift, JLG, Haulotte, Snorkel, Versalift, XCMG or JCB
