Service Engineer – the job
A permanent position for a field service engineer with experience of repairing and maintaining mechanical handling equipment, quite often these will be forklift trucks. To be successful in this role, applicants should have proven experience servicing and maintaining forklift trucks or other mechanical handling equipment. Regular days, based out of Manchester and attending customers’ sites throughout the Manchester postcodes, this local territory is designed to minimise excessive travel and cut out overnight stays.
Managing your own diary and reporting to the Field Service Manager, you will attend customers’ sites to diagnose hydraulic, electrical or mechanical faults, repair on site if possible or arrange further action if necessary.
Clear and professional communication with customers is essential as well as liaising with and advising internal and external colleagues to ensure smooth resolution of issues.
Service Engineer - requirements
Essential:
Proven experience servicing and maintaining forklift trucks (FLT) or other mechanical handling equipment.
Experience diagnosing hydraulic, electrical and mechanical faults.
Full UK driving licence and IT literacy.
You will be:
Customer-focused and professional.
Organised and able to manage your own workload.
Comfortable working independently in a field-based role.

Up to £40,400 p/a depending on experience and qualifications
33 days holiday (25 days + bank holidays), increasing to 36 days with service
Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
