Your Recruitment Coach is working with a leading designer, manufacturer and installer of bespoke material handling solutions, delivering innovative systems to customers across the UK.
Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our expanding service team. If you're a mechanically and electrically skilled engineer who enjoys problem solving, customer interaction and working on a wide variety of equipment, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for installing, servicing, maintaining and repairing bespoke material handling equipment across a diverse customer base.
You'll play a vital role in ensuring our customers' equipment operates safely and efficiently while delivering first-class customer service.
The position is field based and requires regular UK travel, with overnight stays typically 2–3 nights per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Install bespoke material handling equipment at customer sites.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on customer equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
- Respond to customer breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime.
- Commission new equipment and ensure systems operate to specification.
- Complete service reports and documentation accurately using company systems.
- Build positive, long-term relationships with customers through professional service delivery.
About You
We're looking for an engineer with a strong technical background and excellent fault-finding ability who enjoys working independently and taking ownership of customer issues.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer or Maintenance Engineer.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding experience.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience working on material handling equipment, conveyors, forklift trucks, lifting equipment, automation, packaging machinery, production machinery or other industrial equipment.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
- A customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
- A full UK driving licence.
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience with PLC-controlled equipment.
- LOLER awareness or inspection experience.
- Forklift truck engineering or material handling industry experience.
- Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
