Field Service Technician

Salary: Up to £48,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday, days
Location: Field based – covering Birmingham through to Leeds
Travel: Door-to-door working hours
Benefits: Company van provided

The Role

Questech Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Field Service PSV Technician on behalf of a well-established and highly respected organisation within the commercial vehicle industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PSV or HGV Technician looking to move into a field-based role, offering a strong salary package, Monday to Friday daytime hours and door-to-door working.

You will be responsible for travelling to customer sites across a territory covering Birmingham through to Leeds, carrying out diagnostics, servicing, maintenance and repairs on commercial vehicles and associated engine systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs at customer sites
• Diagnose mechanical and engine-related faults
• Complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard
• Carry out preventative maintenance and inspections
• Provide technical support to customers while on site
• Complete service reports and relevant job documentation
• Work independently across the designated field service territory
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and customer service

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you will need:

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle / Commercial Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, or equivalent
• Previous experience as a PSV Technician, Bus Mechanic, HGV Technician or Heavy Vehicle Technician
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to work independently in a field-based role
• Engine experience would be advantageous but is not essential
