Job Title: Financial Analyst Location: Office Based Job Type: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week (09:00 to 17:00)
Job Summary We are seeking a driven Financial Analyst to join our client to ensure the effective delivery of high-quality financial planning and analysis across the business. In this role, you will take full P&L month-end ownership for the regional branch and lead monthly and quarterly submissions to the wider Group. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will also lead two direct reports within the billing function. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering forecasts, budgeting, and effective performance monitoring, while confidently translating the numbers and presenting key messages to senior stakeholders to drive continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Month-End & Reporting: Deliver accurate and timely monthly sales flash reporting to the Group. Provide high-quality analysis of P&L performance, take ownership of specific balance sheet accounts (accruals, prepayments, deferrals), and deliver insightful overhead analysis.
- Forecasting: Partner with the Sales department to produce robust company forecasts. Construct monthly P&L forecasts that accurately reflect full-year performance outlooks, scanning the business for risks and opportunities.
- Budgeting: Prepare and communicate an effective structure for the annual budgeting process. Consolidate the company picture, provide insight on major variances, and present the overall budget to C-Suite and senior management for approval.
- Overhead Controlling: Establish review points to maximize the integrity of overhead reporting, partnering with the business to ensure results remain in line with the budget.
- Internal Controls & Audit: Adhere to all J-Sox control procedures, highlighting and mitigating any compliance failures. Effectively plan and deliver ad-hoc working schedules to meet annual audit demands.
- Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and manage two individuals within the billing function, ensuring adequate controls for accurate and timely billing.
- Process Improvement: Develop, streamline, and enhance financial management processes, driving a culture of continuous improvement across the business.
- Essential: Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
- Essential: Advanced level Excel user and highly competent in PowerPoint.
- Desirable: SAP user with knowledge of the underlying modules.
- Desirable: Previous experience in a similar role (minimum of 2 years).
- Desirable: Prior line management experience.
