Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is working in partnership with a well-established and growing business to recruit a Finance Assistant.

Joining a friendly and supportive finance team, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong transactional finance experience who enjoys variety, accuracy and being part of a collaborative team environment.

The role offers a predominantly remote working arrangement; however, the successful candidate must be able to travel to the Crewe office at short notice when required. Therefore, applicants should be based within a commutable distance of Crewe, Cheshire.

You will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring processes run smoothly, deadlines are met and financial records are maintained accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process purchase invoices and reconcile supplier statements.

  • Manage the sales ledger, raise invoices and allocate payments.

  • Conduct credit control and maintain positive customer relationships.

  • Perform bank reconciliations and support month-end processes.

  • Prepare payment runs.

  • Assist with accruals and prepayments.

  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.

  • Assist the Director with reporting and ad hoc finance tasks.



About You

  • Previous experience in a Finance Assistant or Accounts Assistant role.

  • Strong knowledge of purchase and sales ledger processes.

  • Confident carrying out reconciliations.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Well organised, with the ability to manage and prioritise workloads effectively.

  • AAT qualified or currently studying towards AAT - desirable but not essential.
