About the Position

We are recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join a busy and growing organisation. This is a varied role supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function, offering exposure across accounts administration, reconciliations, payroll support, reporting, and general financial operations.

The successful candidate will be a motivated and organised individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and can build effective relationships across the business.

Responsibilities

• Processing supplier invoices and ensuring accurate coding of financial transactions.
• Raising customer invoices and assisting with account queries.
• Maintaining accurate finance records and supporting data integrity across systems.
• Carrying out bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
• Assisting with credit control and cash allocation activities.
• Supporting month-end processes, including journal preparation and reporting.
• Assisting with payroll administration and pension-related tasks.
• Monitoring outstanding balances and liaising with internal stakeholders where required.
• Preparing financial information and reports for management review.
• Providing administrative support to the finance team and wider business.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency.
• Supporting compliance with company policies and financial procedures.

Experience & Skills Required

• Previous experience within a finance, accounts, or bookkeeping environment.
• Good understanding of transactional accounting processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage deadlines effectively.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Positive, proactive approach with a willingness to learn.

Desirable

• Exposure to payroll or pension administration.
• Experience working within an SME environment.
