Temporary Finance Assistant – 3-Month Contract

Location: Plymouth (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £30,000–£31,000 per annum
Duration: 3 months
Start Date: Immediate

We are currently seeking a Finance Assistant to join our team on an initial 3-month temporary contract, based in Plymouth with hybrid working available.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with strong IT and financial skills to support the day-to-day running of the finance function. The successful candidate will be confident working with financial systems, maintaining accurate records and supporting general ledger activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day finance operations and financial administration.
• Assist with general ledger maintenance, reconciliations and journal entries.
• Ensure accurate processing and recording of financial transactions.
• Assist with month-end processes and reporting.
• Maintain and update financial data across internal systems.
• Use Excel and other finance systems to analyse, manage and report financial information.
• Support the wider finance team with ad hoc duties as required.

About You

• Previous experience in a finance assistant or similar finance role.
• Strong IT skills, particularly Excel, with the ability to work confidently across finance systems.
• Good understanding of general ledger processes and reconciliations.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Available to start immediately and commit to the full 3-month assignment.
