A well-established organisation is seeking a Finance Assistant to join its finance team. The role offers varied responsibilities across financial processing, procurement, budget monitoring, income administration and finance operations, whilst working closely with a collaborative finance team.
Your new role
As Finance Assistant, you will provide high-quality financial and administrative support, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately, efficiently and in line with financial regulations and audit requirements. Responsibilities will include
- Processing purchase orders, invoices, expense claims and credit card transactions
- Maintaining accurate financial records and audit trails.
- Supporting supplier management, resolving invoice and delivery queries and verifying supplier bank details
- Assisting with procurement processes and ensuring compliance with purchasing procedures.
- Providing budget information and monitoring outstanding purchase orders and commitments.
- Supporting income processing, refunds, reconciliations and debtor management.
- Assisting with month-end finance activities and preparing documentation for audits.
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, data protection requirements and internal policies.
- Providing general administrative support to the wider finance function.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience working within a busy finance environment.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
- An understanding of financial controls and finance processes.
- Experience of financial processing such as purchase ledger, income processing and reconciliations.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- A proactive, reliable and self-motivated approach.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A flexible approach and willingness to work across multiple sites.
- Experience of accounting systems such as Xero and ApprovalMax
What you'll get in return

- Salary of £26,400 - £28,000
