Job title – Finance Assistant
Hours – Monday to Friday – 9am – 5pm (hybrid working pattern)
Location – North Baddersley | £29,000 - £32,000 per annum (DOE)
Are you an experienced Finance Assistant with a strong background in Accounts Receivable We're looking for a proactive, organised and detail-focused individual to join a busy and growing finance team in a permanent position.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys taking ownership of the sales ledger while supporting the wider finance function.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 9:00am – 5:00pm
- 30-minute lunch break
- Hybrid working (2 days from home and 3 days in office)
- Free on-site parking
The Role
Working closely with the Operational Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing the sales ledger and ensuring customer accounts are reconciled efficiently. You'll play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the finance department.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the sales ledger, including raising and checking customer invoices
- Processing and reconciling high volumes of customer invoices and remittances
- Managing credit control and proactively chasing outstanding payments
- Resolving customer invoice, payment and remittance queries
- Reconciling high-volume, multi-currency bank accounts and payment gateways
- Supporting the monthly payroll process
- Assisting with monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
- Providing ad hoc support to the wider finance team
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a finance or accounts role
- Experience within a high-volume transactional finance environment
- Strong Accounts Receivable and sales ledger experience
- Previous payroll administration experience
- Excellent working knowledge of Xero and Microsoft Excel
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Confident communication and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of UK VAT (EU VAT knowledge is advantageous)
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- An interest in AI tools and automation to help improve finance processes
Previous experience within an eCommerce business would be beneficial but is not essential.
