Finance Business Partner

Walsall | £70,000 + Company Bonus | Hybrid Working

SF Partners is partnering with a leading global organisation in Walsall to recruit a high-profile Finance Business Partner position. If you’re a Finance Business Partner who wants to actually influence a business rather than spend your life explaining last month’s numbers, this is worth a conversation.

Sitting close to the operational leadership team and reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, you’ll be expected to get under the skin of business performance, challenge decisions, spot opportunities and turn financial information into actions.

The role:

You’ll become a key finance partner to senior operational stakeholders, giving them the commercial insight they need to make better decisions and improve performance.

You’ll take ownership of:

  • Partnering senior operational leaders and challenging them on performance, profitability and commercial decisions
  • Getting behind the numbers – identifying what is driving performance, where margin is being won or lost and where the opportunities sit
  • Building insightful profitability, cost and performance analysis that genuinely influences decisions
  • Developing forecasting and financial models to support business planning and strategic decision-making
  • Improving management information and making better use of finance and operational data
  • Driving improvements across finance processes, systems and reporting
  • Supporting wider business change, including ERP development and implementation
  • Getting involved in due diligence and the integration of acquired businesses
  • Supervising and developing two Finance Analysts

Who we're looking for:
  • You’ll be a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong commercial instincts and the confidence to operate with senior people outside finance.
  • You don’t need to be an established people manager. If you’re a strong Finance Business Partner ready to take on your first supervisory responsibility, we’d absolutely like to hear from you.
  • More important is your ability to challenge, influence and communicate.
  • You’ll probably be the person who asks the extra question when the numbers don’t quite make sense. You’ll be comfortable challenging an operational director when necessary, but commercially astute enough to know how to take people with you.
  • Experience within a sizeable, fast-moving or operationally complex business would be particularly relevant, as would exposure to ERP development, business transformation or acquisition integration.

Why consider it?:

Because this has the breadth to be much more than another FBP role. You’ll have senior-level exposure, genuine influence over commercial decisions, two analysts beneath you and the opportunity to get involved in projects well beyond the monthly reporting cycle.
