This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly entrepreneurial and diverse group of businesses operating across healthcare, residential property, property development and leisure. Working closely with senior leadership, you will be joining a growing organisation where finance plays a central role in supporting commercial decision-making, improving controls and driving operational performance across multiple entities.
Your new role
As Finance Manager, you will take ownership of the finance function across a varied group structure, partnering directly with the CEO and wider management team to provide financial leadership, commercial insight and operational support. This is a broad, hands-on role where you will lead the production of management accounts, board reporting packs, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, project costing and financial modelling. You will directly manage a junior member of the finance team and help develop their skills to support a growing finance operation.You will also be responsible for statutory accounts preparation, VAT, in-house payroll, Companies House compliance, R&D tax claims and wider financial governance. In addition, you will oversee finance processes, strengthen controls, manage and develop team members, and support wider business operations including HR administration, property-related projects and key strategic initiatives.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need strong all-round finance experience, ideally gained within an SME, owner-managed or multi-entity environment. You should be comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels, with the ability to build processes, improve reporting, manage cash flow, support budgeting and provide meaningful commercial analysis to senior stakeholders.You will be confident working independently, able to challenge and support operational teams, and capable of bringing structure, accuracy and control to a growing business. Experience of management accounts, statutory compliance, forecasting, financial modelling, team management and process improvement will be highly beneficial.You will ideally be a fully qualified accountant or have significant and demonstrable experience in a similar role.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will be offered a competitive salary of £55-60,000, full private medical package, 25 days annual leave (+ bank holidays), matched pension contribution of up to 10% and free on-site parking. This is a full-time role, working 40 hours a week between Monday and Friday, but the exact working pattern can be flexible for the right person. Ideally, this role will be site-based but 1 day working remotely may be accommodated.
