IPS Finance is supporting an established manufacturing business in Doncaster with the appointment of a Finance Manager. With turnover in the region of £10m+, the business is investing in its systems and processes as part of a wider programme of operational improvement.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with the wider senior leadership team, the Finance Manger willl take responsibility for the day to day finance function while providing commercial and strategic support to the business. You will manage a small finance team and play an important role in an ERP implementation and the continued development of financial reporting, controls and processes.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a finance team of four, covering management accounts, transactional finance and payroll.
  • Produce monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow reporting and supporting analysis.
  • Partner with the Managing Director and senior leadership team, providing financial insight and commercial challenge to support business decisions.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, translating operational plans into meaningful financial targets and KPIs.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital, debtor management, supplier payments and banking controls.
  • Maintain appropriate financial controls across purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, stock, WIP and the nominal ledger.
  • Support operational and commercial teams with costing, margin analysis, pricing, labour recovery and profitability reporting.
  • Take a leading finance role in the implementation of a new ERP system, with responsibility for processes, reporting, controls and data integrity.
  • Coordinate year-end requirements and relationships with external accountants, auditors and professional advisers.
  • Produce clear financial reporting and forward-looking analysis for senior management and board level review.



Candidate profile
  • Previous experience managing or developing a small finance team.
  • Comfortable operating as the senior finance contact within an SME environment.
  • Previous involvement in an ERP implementation or finance process improvement project would be beneficial.
Package and working pattern
  • £50,000 – £60,000 salary.
  • Option of four day condensed hours
