Location: Amersham
Salary: £35,000–£40,000 depending on experience and qualifications
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm
Contract: Permanent
Working Pattern: Office-based initially, with hybrid working opportunities following probation

We’re looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join a growing specialist business providing billing and financial management services to medical professionals.

This is a varied, hands-on role covering management accounts, cashflow, invoicing, credit control, payroll support and financial reporting. You’ll work closely with the CFO and wider management team while overseeing the day-to-day finance function.

Key Responsibilities of the Finance Manager

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and KPI information.
  • Maintain and reconcile company bank accounts and financial systems.
  • Manage accounts receivable, invoicing and outstanding debtor balances.
  • Investigate payment discrepancies and respond to client billing queries.
  • Maintain rolling cashflow forecasts and monitor working capital.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for medical consultant clients.
  • Calculate and reconcile consultant payments, fees, deductions and adjustments.
  • Manage supplier invoices, expenses, payment runs and banking transactions.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and year-end account preparation.
  • Work with HR and external providers to support monthly payroll.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and accurate financial records.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting and automation.

Key Requirements of the Finance Manager

  • At least three years’ experience within finance, accounting or management accounting.
  • Experience preparing management accounts and financial reports.
  • Strong experience with reconciliations, accounts receivable and cashflow reporting.
  • Experience working with external accountants and payroll providers.
  • Degree-level qualification in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related subject.
  • Experience using Xero or a similar accounting system.

An ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA or equivalent qualification, either completed or part-qualified, would be advantageous.
