You will be joining a well-established and growing organisation based in Carmarthenshire, recognised for its supportive culture and commitment to employee development.Due to continued growth within the finance function, they are looking to appoint a Finance Officer to play a key role in managing customer accounts, supporting cash flow and contributing to wider finance activities.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with Accounts Receivable, Sales Ledger or Credit Control experience who is looking to progress their finance career within a collaborative team environment.Your new role
As a Finance Officer, you will take ownership of customer accounts and support the efficient running of the finance function.Working closely with colleagues across the business, you will ensure invoices are raised accurately, payments are allocated correctly, and outstanding balances are proactively managed, whilst gaining exposure to wider accounting responsibilities.Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing customer accounts and maintaining the sales ledger
- Raising and processing customer invoices
- Allocating incoming payments and cash receipts
- Reconciling customer accounts and investigating discrepancies
- Monitoring aged debt and carrying out proactive credit control activities
- Building strong relationships with customers and resolving account queries
- Producing accounts receivable reports and analysis
- Supporting month-end accounting processes
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations
- Assisting with management accounts preparation
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and controls
- Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc duties as required
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience within Accounts Receivable, Sales Ledger, Credit Control or a similar finance position
- Strong reconciliation and cash allocation experience
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
- Good working knowledge of Excel and finance systems
- Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach
