Role Title: Finance Assistant / Finance Officer
Type: Interim 3 to 6-month contract
Day Rate: Up to £250 per day inside IR35
Working Pattern: Hybrid, with 3 days per week in the office
Location: Leicestershire
Sellick Partnership are working with a Multi Academy Trust based in Leicestershire who are seeking an experienced Finance Assistant / Finance Officer to join their finance team on an interim basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional with Multi Academy Trust or wider educational sector experience to support the finance function during an interim period. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of transactional finance, with particular emphasis on financial accuracy, coding and maintaining robust financial records. Experience working with PFS Financials would be highly advantageous.
The responsibilities of the Finance Assistant / Officer will include:
- Supporting the day-to-day transactional finance function across the Trust
- Processing and maintaining accurate financial information and records
- Supporting purchase ledger, sales ledger and general finance administration
- Ensuring invoices and financial transactions are accurately coded and processed
- Reviewing financial information for accuracy and identifying discrepancies
- Assisting with reconciliations and resolving finance queries
- Supporting budget holders and colleagues with day-to-day finance queries
- Ensuring financial procedures and controls are followed
- Maintaining a high level of accuracy across all financial transactions
- Providing wider support to the finance team as required
The ideal candidate for the Finance Assistant / Officer role will have:
- Previous experience working within a Finance Assistant, Finance Officer or similar role
- Experience working within a Multi Academy Trust, school or wider educational environment
- Strong transactional finance experience
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Good understanding of financial coding
- Experience using PFS Financials or similar finance systems
- Strong Excel and general IT skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive approach and the ability to hit the ground running within an interim position
