Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with a well-established and successful manufacturing business in Chesterfield as they look to appoint a Financial Accountant to join their established finance team.
This is a newly created role due to continued business growth and the evolving responsibilities of the Financial Controller. You’ll join a friendly finance team of four and take ownership of a broad range of financial accounting and reporting activities, working closely with an experienced Financial Controller.
This is a great opportunity for a Financial Accountant, Assistant Accountant or AAT-qualified finance professional looking for a varied role with plenty of responsibility and the opportunity to develop within a growing business.

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00am–4:30pm | Friday, 8:00am–2:30pm
The Role
As Financial Accountant, you’ll be responsible for a varied range of duties including:
- Preparing monthly financial reports and supporting month-end processes
- Taking ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
- Preparing and posting journals, accruals and prepayments
- Supporting statutory accounts and year-end reporting
- Assisting with external audit requirements
- Supporting cash flow forecasting and wider financial planning
- Reviewing and improving financial processes and controls
- Supporting the Financial Controller with analysis, reporting and projects
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting where required
- Providing financial information and support to colleagues and stakeholders across the business
About You
They are looking for someone with strong financial accounting experience who enjoys working in a hands-on and collaborative environment. You will ideally have:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA part-qualified status, or be AAT qualified
- Experience across financial accounting, month-end and balance sheet reconciliations
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a small, collaborative team
- Strong organisation skills and excellent attention to detail
- Good Excel and financial systems knowledge
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across the business
- A proactive approach with an interest in improving processes and taking on additional responsibilities
