Description

• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and reporting.
• Oversee budgeting and forecasting activities to support business planning.
• Analyse financial performance and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
• Ensure accurate posting of transactions and maintenance of general ledger accounts.
• Collaborate with external auditors and manage audit processes effectively.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function.
• Support tax compliance, including VAT returns and other statutory submissions.

Profile

A successful Financial Accountant should have:

• A professional accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA)
• Experience working within Practice (we welcome ACA or ACCA qualified candidates in Industry also)
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and financial systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience in the leisure, travel, and tourism industry is desirable but not essential.

Job Offer

• Salary between £50,000 and £55,000, dependent on the level of experience.
• Performance-related bonus scheme.
• Permanent position based in Newark.
