A rapidly growing, private equity-backed international financial services business is looking to appoint a Financial Accountant to join its expanding finance team in Windsor.
This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified accountant or finalist looking to take the next step in their career and gain exposure to a broad range of financial accounting responsibilities within a complex, international group.
Working closely with the Assistant Financial Controller and Finance Director, you will take ownership of key accounting activities across multiple entities, currencies and jurisdictions. This is far more than a traditional month-end role, offering exposure to statutory reporting, regulatory requirements and the wider financial operations of an international business.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
Taking ownership of revenue recognition across multiple revenue streams, including accrued and deferred income.
Managing month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
Reviewing complex accounting treatments and documenting appropriate approaches.
Managing lease accounting under FRS 102, including lease registers and right-of-use asset calculations.
Preparing intercompany reconciliations and supporting group consolidation across five currencies.
Producing monthly management reporting packs with insightful commentary.
Preparing statutory accounts for UK and international entities.
Leading annual audit processes and managing auditor queries.
Preparing FCA regulatory returns and supporting capital calculations.
Reviewing VAT returns and providing corporation tax information to external advisers.
Identifying opportunities to improve financial controls, reporting processes and systems.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or be a finalist with your final examinations remaining.
At least two years' experience preparing month-end and statutory accounts.
Experience working across multiple entities, ideally within a service-based, professional services, consultancy, technology or financial services environment.
A strong understanding of accounting principles and FRS 102.
Excellent Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables and reconciliations.
A proactive approach, strong attention to detail and the confidence to take ownership of your work.
An interest in developing your knowledge of regulatory reporting (training will be provided).
Experience with Xero, Sage Intacct or multi-currency accounting would be advantageous but is not essential.
