We're supporting the recruitment of a Financial Controller role that sits at the heart of a dynamic organisation, reporting directly to the Finance Director and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team. This is a highly visible position that combines technical accounting excellence, commercial insight and operational business partnering.

You'll take ownership of the finance function's day-to-day performance while helping shape the wider business through robust financial control, strategic decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Role

As Financial Controller, you'll be responsible for leading all aspects of financial reporting, governance and compliance, whilst ensuring the business has the financial insight required to support continued growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of monthly management accounts, statutory reporting and financial performance analysis
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management processes
  • Ensuring robust financial controls, governance and compliance across the business
  • Managing balance sheet integrity, reconciliations and treasury activities
  • Partnering with operational teams to drive commercial performance and working capital improvements
  • Supporting tender submissions, business planning and strategic decision making
  • Leading relationships with auditors, banks and external advisors
  • Driving process improvements and strengthening internal controls
  • Managing and developing the finance team while promoting a culture of continuous improvement
About You

We're looking for an ambitious and technically capable finance professional who enjoys operating in a fast-paced environment and influencing stakeholders across the business.

You will ideally have:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (first time movers from practice will be considered)
  • At least 2 years' post-qualified experience
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including governance and compliance controls
  • Experience preparing budgets, forecasts and detailed financial analysis
  • Advanced Excel and ERP system experience
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A strong understanding of IFRS 15 and IFRS 16
