  • Produce and review monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
  • Provide meaningful analysis and commentary on business performance, budgets and forecasts.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Maintain strong financial controls and ownership of the balance sheet.
  • Oversee cashflow, working capital and day-to-day financial management.
  • Work closely with the MD and operational management team to understand performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide commercial insight into profitability, costs, margins and operational performance.
  • Support decision-making through financial analysis, modelling and KPI reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, systems and controls.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting, tax and statutory requirements.

  • Take an active interest in the wider operation of the business, using financial information to drive improvements.
  • Support the MD with strategic projects and business planning.

This role would suit a commercially minded finance professional who wants to take genuine ownership of a finance function and play a significant role in the wider business.

You will ideally have the following skills and experiences: -

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Strong management accounting and month-end experience.
  • Excellent Excel and financial analysis skills.
  • Experience managing or mentoring a small finance team.
  • A hands-on and operational approach, rather than being purely reporting-focused.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
  • A proactive approach to improving processes and supporting business growth.
  • The ambition and capability to develop into a Finance Director in the future.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a solid, well-established and successful business and where you can have direct input into the future success of the business.
