Key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the monthly reporting cycle across multiple business units and P&Ls
  • Reviewing management accounts and providing analysis ahead of senior leadership and board reporting
  • Maintaining strong balance sheet controls and investigating key movements and variances
  • Providing insight around cash, working capital and business performance
  • Working with operational and finance teams to improve the quality and consistency of financial information
  • Taking a lead role in external audit and acting as a senior point of contact for auditors
  • Maintaining appropriate financial controls across revenue, accruals, prepayments and other key accounting areas
  • Supporting the implementation and development of finance and reporting systems
  • Identifying opportunities to automate reporting and reduce manual processes
  • Improving month-end processes to create a more efficient and scalable finance function
  • Supporting wider finance transformation and business improvement projects

The Person

We are looking for an experienced finance professional who is comfortable operating within a sizeable, complex or rapidly changing organisation.

You will ideally bring:

  • A recognised accounting qualification ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • Significant management accounting and financial control experience
  • Experience managing and developing a finance team
  • Strong knowledge of month-end, balance sheet control and financial reporting
  • Exposure to multi-entity or multi-site environments
  • Experience of business growth, integration, acquisitions or organisational change would be particularly useful
  • A track record of improving systems, controls and finance processes
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and identify underlying trends
  • The confidence to challenge existing ways of working and implement practical improvements
  • A hands-on approach combined with the ability to operate at a senior level

This is an excellent opportunity to join an organisation where finance is continuing to evolve, offering the successful individual the chance to make a genuine impact on the development of the function.
